Enhance Packaging Strength with High Adhesive Strength

In the industrial world, the packaging of a product is one of the most important factors that affects that quality of products. When products are transported from the manufacturing facility to the customers, there are different stages that pose different types of threats such as tearing of packaging, deformation and defacing of packaging. In addition to that, the packaging needs to be intact all the time. For some products, adhesive packaging materials are also used. The labels put on the packaging of products also need to have good adhesion strength to ensure that they will be able to survive such harsh transit and storage environments. This is why the manufacturers must test the adhesion strength of the tapes and labels used for packaging. In order to ensure best adhesion efficiency of the packaging materials, the manufacturers need to perform various tests on the materials to test their quality.

One such test is peel strength test. This test is used for estimating the amount of force that an adhesive can bear before getting peeled off from the surface of the substrate. The test is conducted with the help of an instruments called as peel strength tester. The instrument is equipped with highly sensitive load cells that can accurately measure the load applied to them. The instrument has two distinct clamps that hold the specimen. One clamp hold one end of substrate and the other clamp holds one end of the adhesive. Once the specimen is placed properly, they clamps are moved in opposite direction which peels off the adhesive from the substrate. The force applied to peel off the adhesive is recorded in the load sensor and then displayed on the digital screen. This way the adhesion strength of the adhesive tapes and ensure that they are fit for the purpose. The peel strength test helps the manufacturers of adhesive tapes and packaging materials to deliver the bets to their customers.
