Peel strength tester is a widely used testing instrument in packaging industries to test the quality and efficiency of the adhesive packaging products. The instrument is very efficient in measuring the peel strength of the adhesive tapes. Peel strength is the minimum amount of force that is required to peel off an adhesive when it is applied to a substrate. By measuring peel strength of an adhesive material, the manufacturers can analyse whether the adhesive will be able to sustain its functionality during usage of not.

To conduct the peel strength test, the adhesive and substrates are clamped in each serrated jaw. The serrated jaw prevents the specimen from slipping and ensures accuracy of test results. Once the specimen is clamped properly, the clamps are moved apart from each other causing the adhesive to peel off from the substrate. The force that is required from peeling off the adhesive is recorded by the highly sensitive load cell of the instrument which is further displayed on the digital screen. The instrument is very helpful for the manufacturers in ensuring that their products will stay safe during transportation and will reach their customers with best quality.
