Get Rid Of Metamerism and Enhance the Colour Quality of Your Products

Colour is one of the most important aspects of quality when it comes to consumer products. When a customer sees a product for the first time, its colour has great impact on its look and feel which makes the first impression on the customer’s mind. Colour also depicts the quality of the products. In addition to that the colour of products also has a psychological simulating effect on the human mind. This is the reason why the manufacturers need to place high focus on the quality of colours that they impart in their products so that the products have the best possible look and feel (Color Matching Box).

The industries where the product colour is of utmost importance include automotive industries, paint industries, food industries, and textile industries. The problem that manufacturers face with the colour of their products is that the colour may appear different in different conditions. The appearance of colours can easily change with the change in ambient conditions and light sources. This phenomenon is called metamerism. The manufacturers have to ensure that the colour of their products appears the same in every lighting condition so that customers do not have to struggle with the appearance and quality of the products with changes in lighting conditions.

In order to ensure that the colour appears same under different light sources, it is important for the manufacturers to test the products under different light sources before they are delivered to the customers. To do that, an instrument called colour matching cabinet is used. It is an instrument which comprises of several different light sources that can be used to observe the changes in the appearance of the colour of the products with changes in the light source.  The instrument is given with individual switches for each light source which allows the manufacturers to observe the specimen in different light sources individually or in a combination of two or more light sources. This allows them to study the behaviour of colours of products under different lighting conditions.

The light sources that are used in the instrument include D65, TL84, Ultra Violet black Light, Cool White Fluorescent, and INCAA light sources that help in efficient study of colour so that the products appear same under different ambient conditions. The cabinet is made of high quality wood along with a platform that is inclined at an angle of 450 which allows the viewer to observe the light source in an efficient manner. With the help of colour matching cabinet, the manufacturers can ensure better colour quality and uniform appearance of their products in different ambient conditions and achieve high customer satisfaction.
