ISO 9227
ISO 9227 is an international standard that specifies a test method for evaluating the corrosion resistance of metallic materials and coatings when exposed to a salt spray or salt fog environment. The full title of this standard is "ISO 9227:2017 - Corrosion tests in artificial atmospheres - Salt spray tests."
In a salt spray test, a specimen is placed in a chamber where it is exposed to a controlled atmosphere of salt-laden mist or fog. This test method is commonly used to assess the corrosion resistance of various materials, such as metals and coatings, under accelerated conditions that simulate the corrosive effects of saltwater and marine environments.
