In adhesive material testing, peel strength is calculated after evaluating the average load required to peel the specimen divided by width of the specimen peeled. Furthermore, the load data used in calculating the peel strength is derived from the position curve vs flat portion of the load.

Types of Peel Tests

The major difference found between these testing methods is the angle of the peel. There are two common types of peel tests are:
