Crockmeter is a manual device used in the textile industry to test the colorfastness of textiles, leather, and other materials. This tool is designed to simulate the rubbing action that a textile or leather material may experience during normal wear and tear, helping to determine its resistance to color transfer.
Manual Crockmeters are simple to use and require an operator to manually rub the material against the rubbing cloth a set number of times, typically 10 or 20. The resulting color transfer is then compared against a standard gray scale to determine the level of colorfastness of the material being tested.
