How the Servo Controlled UTM Works
The specimen is secured between suitable grips or fixtures. Once the test starts, the servo motor moves the crosshead at the programmed speed while the load cell continuously measures the force applied to the specimen. The software records load, displacement and extension data in real time. Depending on the selected test method, it can calculate:
