Plastic Closures Testing Instruments

Closures have a very important role in packaging. There are many factors to consider, such as the styling and overall product brand, how the product will be dispensed, and whether the package needs extra protection. The manufacturers of Pipeline Packaging must test closure with both the package and product to ensure they are compatible. Plastic closures are either thermoplastic manufactured via injection moulding, or thermoset manufactured via compression moulding. Injection-moulded, thermoplastic closures are manufactured primarily from polypropylene, polyethene, or styrene. These closures offer the flexibility of design and are economical in cost. Injection-moulded closures can be divided into two groups: unscrewing and strip moulded caps. Compression-moulded thermoset closures are produced from phenolic for dark colours or urea for light colours. These closures are extremely hard and offer excellent dimensional stability and chemical resistance. To ensure that the plastic closures are used inefficient manner, manufacturers must test the quality of plastic closures using Plastic Closures Testing Instruments.
